Trips June 2nd-June 8th

Everything looks like it is flowing. I am in Waterton this weekend and will be doing an exploratory run on Boundary creek on Saturday. It will be a 5km flat paddle and then a 5km hike in.

Blackiston is at medium flows. The logs under the bridge have been cleared. Cameron is at medium to high flows. Drywood should be flowing.

I will be taking off for an Upper St. trip Saturday morning between 7 and 8. If anyone is interested, we can work out a specific time. I plan on working on my eddie turns and stern squirts, so I'll be spending a bit of time in the eddie just around the first bend from put-in and just after Kimball Cliff. I'll check comments throughout the day and post any specifics if others are interested in going.

I talked with a few others that are interested in Upper Saint tomorrow (the Smith Bros), and they convinced me to change my schedule around to go with them in the afternoon. We will be meeting at my place at 3 pm. That is the white house on the SW corner of the Cardston LDS temple. If you're interested, we'll see you there.

Nice level on the Lower St. Mary today (about 45 cms) - lots of green and breaking waves to choose from ... and warm water. Enjoy.

Today we paddled the Waterton from the Dam down to the 810 Bridge - a nice level (65+ cms, clear/green water) and quite scenic with canyons and small rapids (up to II+ or so). It's about 30 km but current is swift and it's thus about 4 hour float time. For something different, we'd recommend it. Like the Lower St. Mary, it's only paddleable a few weeks annually in late spring, before the dam closes.
