Flows are getting up there. Castle is almost double from what it was last weekend. Crowsnest is up as well. If Flathead isn't a go for this weekend, we may have to do a trip on Carbondale and throw in Castle Canyon. I would like to do Cameron Creek again before the flows get up too high, too (if they aren't already there with this warm weather and rain).
We got some plans worked out. Let me know what you think.
Friday, Janson and I want to do Cameron Creek. We will be leaving from Cardston at 1:30 in the p.m. Can you do that on Friday, Chris? After Cameron Creek, we want to do the Belly River short run to see what it's like this year. We'll probably make it there around 4:00 in the p.m. Both Janson and I have to be back in Cardston by 7.
Saturday, we will be meeting at the Shell gas station in Pincher Creek at 9:30 in the a.m. for a double header, Carbondale and then Castle Canyon run. We are gonna try the new take out that Stew wrote about in a post earlier this year. I'm getting giddy just thinking about all this paddling... yeeeha.
I won't be around Friday, but Clay Hironaka sould be interested. 327-8722.
Saturday the times may be a bit early for me. I will see what I can do, but I certainly can't make the Carbondale. I may be able to meet you at the bridge takeout around 1:00 when you should be getting off the 1st run.
Watch out for the canyon drop just before the take out bridge (~800m upstream). It can get nasty at certain flows.
Just talked to Mike and he said you guys were interested in doing the Canyon first. I will meet up with you at the Lynx creek Campground overlooking 5 alive on the Carbondale at 12:30 to 1:00. I will see about moving some wood while waiting.
We've got family stuff tomorrow and look forward to tagging along in future. Looks like flows should be quite good for the Castle - maybe a bit low for the Carbondale (??) I'll be glad to hear.
I was out there two weeks ago and the road to the Canyon run gravel-pit take-out has a sign - I think it was Rge Rd 1-4 (or maybe 1-2 ??). The sign also confirms that it's a public road.
Also, Chris or others - has anybody ever run Mill Creek? It looks small but interesting from the Beaver Mines Road Bridge and I drove up to the Gladstone Ranch but didn't see much. Might be worth a trip sometime.

Clay/Mark, is Bear or the Flathead happening this weekend?

I wouldn't mind running the full cameron. It should be mediu but doable. The road to red rock also opens up so with this rain that run may also be in.
An afternoon run on the bear or middle fork would also work for me. I have to help with a trailer Sat morning but am up after that.
I think I am not going to leave to the bitteroots until sunday.

Chris, would you rather we did the Canyon first, so you can catch Carbondale with us later?

Sorry but I missed your post or I would have gone with you. Thanks
